King shares photo to mark first Mother's Day without the Queen
In honor of his first Mother's Day since the Queen's death, the King shared a touching Instagram photo of the two of them.
The image depicts the King as a young child leaning on his mother and beaming at the camera.
The Queen Consort is shown in another picture with her late mother, Rosalind Shand, who passed away in 1994.
The post has captions that go along with the images: We are thinking of and wishing a happy Mother's Day to all mothers everywhere, including those who may be missing their mothers today.
The Queen Consort's grandmother and mother both suffered from osteoporosis before their deaths.
She founded the Royal Osteoporosis Society in 2019, describing the disease as "rarely diagnosed" and "seldom discussed," and she is now an avid campaigner to raise awareness of it. She advised seniors to "discover the simple steps that we can all take to improve bone health throughout our lives" the previous year.
Around 3.5 million people in the UK are affected by the disease, which makes bones weaker and makes it easier for them to break. Kensington Palace also celebrated Mother's Day by posting a picture of the Princess of Wales and her three children sitting in a tree.
