Lance Reddick Dies

After Fringe ended, Reddick appeared in numerous guest spots on television shows, including The Blacklist, Wilfred, and an arc on Intelligence. Then John Wick showed up.


Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York who frequently collaborates with Keanu Reeves, was played by Reddick and co-starred in the 2014 film that launched the action franchise. He showed up in all of the Wick films, including Section Four, which opens wide on Walk 24. He likewise voiced the Charon character in the 2019 computer game John Wick Hex.


In point of fact, Reddick was also very good at voice acting. Rick and Morty, Castlevania, Paradise PD, Farzar, The Legend of Vox Machina, and Duck Tales are among his animated series credits. He has appeared in Quantum Break as Martin Hatch, Destiny as Commander Zavala, Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, among other video game roles.


Reddick went back to guest-starring on television after the first Wick, appearing in one or more episodes of American Horror Story and Carrier before landing yet another series-regular role in the popular Prime Video L.A.-set crime drama Bosch, starring Titus Welliver as relentless homicide detective Harry Bosch. From 2014 to the present, Reddick appeared in all 68 episodes of the show as Police Chief Irvin Irving.


During Bosch's run on Comedy Central, the actor would reprise his role in the series Corporate. He played the uber-capitalist CEO of the megacorporation Hampton DeVille, Christian DeVille, who enjoys turning other people's difficulties into easy cash. He showed up in 18 of the show's 24 episodes from 2018-20.



Reddick appeared in Resident Evil, a Netflix series loosely based on the popular video game franchise, just last year. The eight-episode first season of the live-action show, which was canceled, featured multiple members of the same Wesker family.


Reddick has recently appeared in Godzilla vs. Kong, One Night in Miami, Sylvie's Love, Faith Based, and Angel Has Fallen on the big screen.


He was reprising his role as Charon in Ballerina, a John Wick spinoff starring Ana de Armas. He also had roles in several upcoming films and TV shows, including the remake of White Men Can't Jump by 20th Century Studios, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, and Shirley, directed by John Ridley and co-produced by Regina King, who directed One Night in Miami.


Stephanie, Reddick's wife, and their two children, Yvonne and Christopher, survive him.
