Roy Hodgson has been reappointed to lead Crystal Palace until the end of the season. Hodgson previously managed England.

Palace fired Patrick Vieira, who took over for Hodgson at Selhurst Park in July 2021, on Friday after a 12-match losing streak in all competitions.

Watford was managed by Hodgson, 75, from January to May 2022, when they were relegated to the Championship. He left after that.

Hodgson commented, "It is a privilege to be asked to return to the club, which has always meant so much to me."

"We only want to start winning games and get the points we need to stay in the Premier League right now."

Hodgson had said he didn't anticipate taking one more administrative work in the Chief Association after his takeoff from Watford.

In addition, Ray Lewington is back at Palace as the first-team coach, and Paddy McCarthy, who was in charge of Sunday's 4-1 loss to Arsenal, is now in charge as the assistant manager.

However, the style of football that was played at the conclusion of the former England manager's time in the Selhurst Park dugout has led some fans to express their displeasure with his return.

Additionally, there are questions regarding how his short-term appointment at Watford last season ended, when he was unable to prevent the Hornets from being relegated from the Premier League.
